Boldly Going

I just got home from seeing Star Trek, which was by no means a profound experience, but was certainly a satisfying one.  I have to say, with  Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock  I  can appreciate all that slash fiction a lot more than I used to.  Going in, I knew that Chris Pine would be nice, but I wasn't quite prepared for Quinto's big, brown, sad puppy-dog eyes.

  1. Ooooooh....big great brown puppy-dog eyes? I'm melting away already!

  2. What about Anton Yelchin? He is ridiculously cute in Charlie Bartlet (an awesome movie).

Quinto's face annoys the f* out of me for some reason. He looks constipated all the time or something.

  3. I haven't seen the movie ... but certainly will. Thing is, I'm of vintage (way old enough, ok?) to recall a distinctly distasteful "joke" from Trekie days of yore.

Q: What do the starship Enterprise and toilet paper have in common?

A: They're both headed to Uranus to wipe out Klingons.

I warned you it was tasteless. I apologize for this lapse.

"Shove another weiner in the warp drive, Scotty!"

  4. This calls for some slash fiction, the next generation, starting with young Kirk driving that bitchin Corvette, and stopping to pick up the luscious hitchhiker...
